Martin is a Registrar in Otolaryngology conducting a PhD project on transoral ultrasound to improve the diagnostic workup of oropharyngeal cancer.

Kasper is doing a multicenter randomized clinical trial comparing a spinal versus conventional needle for fine needle aspiration (FNA) biopsies of thyroid nodules.

Nina Buhl Sannino-Greve

Nina is conducting randomized controlled trials of surgeon-performed transoral and transcervical ultrasound in the diagnostic work-up of oropharyngeal cancer and a prospective study of ex vivo 3D ultrasound for surgical margins in oropharyngeal cancer.

Amalie is investigating the use of different diagnostic tools to improve treatment of infections in the oral cavity and pharynx.

The diagnostic tools investigated are an AI-model based on images and ultrasound of the oral cavity.

Jacob is working on an ad-hoc research project analyzing data on COVID-19 testing, with the goal of identifying important learnings from the vast amount of data on testing collected by the research group during the pandemic.

Kyriakos is an intern at SURGiC, holding a degree in Mechanical Engineering and currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering.

His responsibilities include assisting with 3D ultrasound scans during surgeries and providing technical support to the team.

Medical Student

Jacob is a Medical Student on his final semester. He and Amalie are working together on a research project, in which the explore how to diagnose infections of the pharynx and oral cavity more effectively by using AI-models build on images as a diagnostic instrument.
